Nutrition Cafe

Hello and welcome to the most exciting nutrition lesson of your life!  Click on the link below which will take you to the Nutrition Cafe.  Click on and complete the three activities.   After you complete the activities, open a word document and answer these questions:

1.  What was your favorite activity?  Why was it your favorite activity?
2.  Did you learn anything new while exploring the Nutrition Cafe?
3.  Will you change or at least think about changing any of your own eating habits?  Why or why not?

**NOTE** For the first activity, Nutrition Sleuth, you do not have to do all of them, try 3-4.

  1. I really liked this leasson becuase it was interactive the whole time. The pick your grapes was really cool becuase it was set up like jepordy. All the activities resebled a fun game to play and at the same time the students were learning information. It is a great way to disguise education while having fun! In addition, i liked how the students could choose which activity they wanted to do and i thought the questions were great! They were not too detailed, just enought to check that the students did the website and to see if they learned anything! Really good checking for understanding! Also, I love the background right away I knew it wsa nutrition and very appealing to the eye! I loved this though awesome job!

  2. Amanda awesome job!! I really liked how positive you were in the introduction it made me laugh. All of the activities were really awesome and made it more exciting to learn about nutrition. If the student was confused at all there were ways for them to find out the answer or get hints. Overall nice job!

First of all I love the background on your blog. As soon as I saw it I knew that this was a nutrition lesson. The website that you selected for the students to go to was awesome. It was very interactive and there were so many things to try that the students would be able to stay occupied for a long time. I think that the questions you asked were very good especially the last one. Asking students what they would change about their diet is a good reflection question.

  5. I agree with molly about the last question. This is the type of question that can really start a discussion in class. You can use it to start a lesson on goal setting related to nutrition. Or, it can be geared toward creating a healthier meal or healthier diet. Overall the website was great and the activities were fun. Maybe you can have the students send you their scores and make it a competition. This might motivate students to do the activites more than once in order to get a higher score. The more they do it, the more they learn and rememeber.

I really loved this website! Very interactive. Great resource that students can use for a study method as well as use everyday to analyze their meals. I really liked how it was an interactive website and activity based. This engages the students more. I feel as if the questions could have been a little better only because some of them could have been answered with simple responses and do not really promote much thought. Other than that great find on the website! Good lesson!

  9. I thought that the webpage was very intearctive, but the background was a bit disheartening given the quality of the activities. PS, I love your blog background! Very visually appealing for studnets! I believe that it would be more beneficial if the web designer made it easier to read and navigate. I think overall, the quality of the assignment was good and interesting to delve into. I enjoyed the instant feedback technology is able to provide to us!
